Client Overview
Eclectic Products is a Eugene, Oregon–based manufacturer specializing in adhesives, epoxies, and wood fillers. Its portfolio includes well-known brands such as Amazing GOOP® Adhesives, E6000® Series, and Seal-All®, widely distributed through major retailers including Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Kmart.
With a presence in the home improvement, crafts, and marine markets, Eclectic Products manages a high volume of regulated packaging artwork, often with multiple variants per product. This work requires close coordination across teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
The Challenge
Before adopting ManageArtworks, Eclectic Products managed packaging artwork through manual, email-driven processes. Files were shared sequentially across teams and tracked using individual checklists, offering limited visibility into the process.
As artwork volume and regulatory complexity increased, the absence of a centralized platform made it difficult to maintain consistency, accountability, and compliance across teams involved in packaging decisions.
Key challenges included:
- Elevated regulatory risk from outdated content or missing approvals
- No dependable version control or audit-ready audit trails
- Limited visibility into artwork status, ownership, and bottlenecks
- Fragmented collaboration across teams
- Reliance on individuals to coordinate handoffs and track progress
Their previous approach no longer scaled with the business, prompting the need for a more structured and transparent artwork management system.
The ManageArtworks Solution
To bring consistency and control to packaging artwork operations, Eclectic Products adopted ManageArtworks’ Artwork Management System (AMS) along with Copy Manager as the foundation for managing artwork reviews and approvals. The shift moved artwork coordination out of inboxes and into a single, shared environment where teams could work with greater clarity and alignment.
With ManageArtworks in place, artwork reviews now follow a defined flow rather than informal handoffs. Files progress through review and approval stages with clear ownership, eliminating uncertainty around status, responsibility, or the latest version. Teams no longer rely on manual tracking or individual follow-ups, as artwork history and approvals are maintained consistently within the system.
Adoption and Usage
Since go-live, ManageArtworks has been used as the primary system for managing packaging artwork at Eclectic Products. To date, hundreds of artwork workflows have been initiated, with a strong completion rate through the platform, reflecting consistent usage across teams involved in artwork review and approval.
Within the first year, the volume of artwork processed exceeded what previously took several years, supported by a more structured and predictable workflow.
As adoption matured, the way artwork was reviewed and validated also evolved. Visual comparisons between iterations improved review accuracy, while shared visibility into artwork status helped teams stay aligned without interrupting each other for updates. Today, Purchasing and Quality teams can track progress independently, while Regulatory teams benefit from improved control and traceability as artwork volume continues to scale.
Overall Impact
ManageArtworks has provided Eclectic Products with a more predictable and controlled way of managing regulated packaging artwork. Teams report greater confidence in artwork accuracy, clearer ownership during reviews, and improved alignment across functions involved in packaging decisions.
This became especially evident during a regulatory-driven formulation update affecting a major product line. With multiple artworks already in progress, teams were able to trace affected versions, identify impacted components, and pull incorrect files before printing. This level of visibility helped prevent incorrect print runs and avoided significant downstream cost and disruption during a time-sensitive transition.
Beyond individual incidents, the platform has reduced day-to-day operational friction. Teams spend less time tracking status and more time reviewing intended changes, enabling Eclectic Products to manage higher artwork volumes with greater consistency, control and confidence.
